Ambitions & Dreams

Every man all over the world has some dreams and ambitions. We also have. Here is the VoiceThread with dreams of members of team 1 in Poland :)

Greetings!!

Healthy Lifestyle Survey

OK, so I did the test and as far as I am concerned I am happy with my result. I’ve scored 51 points altogether from a healthy lifestyle test. I try to spend time actively and eat healthily.
My parents also eat healthily. They do a little less sport because they are truly busy working and they haven’t got as much time as I have, but they like to go for walks, go on bicycle trips and hike in the mountains.
I suppose that we are a family who leads a healthy and active lifestyle.

What do the scores mean? Generally speaking, the more points you have, the better you look after your health :)

My results:

cigarettes: 10 out of 10

stress control: 9 out of 10

alcohol and drugs: 8 out of 8

safety: 9 out of 10

fitness: 7 out of 8

eating habits: 8 out of 8

Take care,

Aneta ;)

Fitness test

Comenius Fitness test was a great idea. While doing each task I was a little bit excited and nervous... How about my stamina? Am I strong enough to cope with the test? Fortunately I did all of the exercises and I`m satisfied with the results.
It was good fun, especially the Cooper test, cause we (I mean Polish Vagab teachers and students ) were running together ;) On our teachers' blog there is a review of that event and some nice photos :)

Media and Communication

Nowadays media play a very important role in young people’s lives. They use them to communicate with each other, to keep in touch but also to be up-to-date with the latest news and to have information about the world. Media are some sort of connector between their “little reality” and the rest of the world.

The most popular kinds of media are for sure the Internet and TV but youngsters also use a lot of devices to listen to music- such as mp3 players, ipods, radio, etc. Teenagers spend their spare time on the Internet, using facebook or twitter. They connect with their friends that way. The Internet is also used for checking e-mails, for doing homework etc. It is one of the most useful sort of media as it is both entertaining and educating. Young people cannot live without their mobile phones , too. They use them not only for calling and texting. A handy is a gadget. Sometimes designer’s. Sometimes fashionable. Sometimes very modern and with plenty of applications. So as you can see it’s something more than a usual phone. Mp3 players, ipods or a radio are constant companions of every young boy or a girl because music is an important part of their lives. Because of that teenagers carry music players around with them all the time.

We are young people too. And we are similar to the rest of people in our age. We use facebook, mobile phones, ipods. We watch TV– maybe not frequently but still. And we are part of the worldwide cyber society ;)

Our parents and grandparents didn’t use media as much as we do. It was due to the lack of the media transmitters. There weren’t TVs or computers in every house. Radios were the only media which let them keep in touch with the world. They used the radio for listening to music but also for listening to news. Later, when TVs became more popular, radio wasn’t the only information source. Our parents and grandparents had to become familiar to the technical progress. It was the natural way of life ;)
